| Peace Through Strength Institute
Polling includes President Trump’s approval ratings on Ukraine:
- American voters by 6 to 1 say Trump needs to step up pressure on Russia vs. Ukraine
- 64% say Putin deserves the blame; 15% blame Zelenskyy
“The polling is clear,” said Bill Cole, Founder of the Peace Through Strength Institute. “American voters expect bold actions from President Trump.”
“Especially now that peace talks were clearly rejected by Russia,” Cole added.
- 76% support further sanctions on Russia energy, banking, tech, and supply chain
“3 of 4 American voters support tougher sanctions on Russia’s energy and banking sectors,” Cole stated. “The American people are ready to see Putin pay a price for its aggression.”
- 58% reported further U.S. assistance in Ukraine will help deter China
“Defending Ukraine is also about deterring China, Iran and North Korea,” Cole commented. “A majority of voters understand this and recognize the need for strength.”
- 38% approve of President Trump’s handling of Ukraine; 59% disapprove
“Only 38% of American voters approve of how Trump is handling Ukraine, but this is not a rejection,“ Cole noted. “Americans want to end Russian aggression and secure peace.”

- 74% say the war in Ukraine should be a U.S. priority
